Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to meet Atlanta wedding photographer, Christian David Turner. He was on the road traveling with friends and made a quick stop in San Antonio before heading back to Georgia. The past year I’ve been creating more and more friendships with other photographers all around the world. It’s one thing to create friendships online through social media, but it’s a whole other thing to finally meet in person.
This is what community in the photography world is all about. It’s not competition… it’s friendships.
If you’re someone who doesn’t want to share your “secrets” whether it be technical or even as little as locations… Let me drop some real knowledge on you… You will never grow as an artist or human being. There’s no need to hide. Photography, to me, isn’t about concerning myself with the best gear or extreme technical knowledge… It’s about enjoying every moment of life with the people in it and documenting it as raw and as real as possible.
For me, photography is about growing as a loving human being. You only live once, so make it worthwhile.
Here’s just a few frames we snapped while walking around my stomping grounds of San Antonio. I also made sure to get a group photo with Christian and his friends.
If you’re a photographer and wanna connect, leave me a comment below. We don’t have to live in the same city. That’s the beauty of the internet. And who knows, one day we might actually get to hang in person! Let’s get a conversation started. Leave me a comment below!
