I had the honor of speaking at the San Antonio Photographer User Group. The presentation I did was called “Discover Your Voice”.
I talked about my journey of becoming a wedding photographer and the things that helped me create my voice:
- Ignoring Social Media
- Finding Inspiration
- Creating Consistency In Your Style
Above all, what I wanted everyone to get out of it was that it’s okay to be yourself. I came into the photography business and wedding photography industry blindly. I didn’t know what I was doing, but throughout my journey I found my voice and happiness by just being myself.
I tried to record the presentation by myself, but turned out my laptop couldn’t handle the file. Luckily, Duncan Fox, a photographer who attended, filmed it and gave me the files. So, I want to thank him for doing that, because without him, I wouldn’t be able to share this with you. Please bare in mind that he’s not a videographer, so the quality isn’t that great. However, I didn’t want to let the quality prevent me from sharing this. I hope you’ll be able to get something out of it.
I also want to thank Philip Thomas for not only inviting me to speak at the meet up, but also taking the photos below.
