Last week I had a friend of mine shoot a video for me and so I asked Mary & Taylor if they would want to pretend to plan their wedding all over again and be my models for the video.
I wanted a very short video that showed what it’s like to work with me.
Whether it’s portraits during a couple’s session like in this video or during a wedding, I don’t want heavily posed photos. I want natural looking ones that truly show the couple’s personalities and has real emotion.
I tell my couples not to think of it as a photo shoot, but rather an excuse to take some time out to spend with each other. I want it to be an experience that when you look back at the photos, you don’t remember it as some awkward photo shoot, but rather the time you had or the things you said to each other. The result is amazing, natural looking photos of you both that aren’t just some selfies, but photos of your love and connection with each other.
I will admit that it definitely felt weird having someone shoot video of me taking photos, but the video turned out incredible and even better than I imagined it would.
I want to thank my friend Marvin Anthony for shooting the video and putting it together. I also included the photos I created during that shoot. It may have been a video shoot, but the photos are still natural moments that I always get.
