Before heading to do their Government Canyon TX engagement photos, I met up with Amy and Joe at their place. I feel that peoples’ homes and pets are just as important and part of their story. So, if it works out that way, I like to start out at people’s homes and photograph a few things there. They had a few beers, showed me their place, and introduced me to their puppers.
We then made our way to Government Canyon. I’ve wanted to shoot there for a few years, so I was stoked to find out that was where Amy and Joe wanted to go.
I had such a great time hanging out with them. It’s always so hard to explain that I truly know nothing about posing and that I won’t be posing anyone. None of my work is posed. It’s all candid. For Amy and Joe, it was pretty damn easy for them to just be themselves, have fun, joke around, and enjoy the evening.
