Astrid’s Dark & Moody Boudoir Session

For Clients

This is another boudoir set I did for Astrid. If you haven’t seen her other set, you can check it out here. I decided to create 2 different posts to share her session because they both have entirely different looks.

Before starting any session, I always sit down with the person to sort through their outfit pieces they bring. I encourage everyone to bring as many items as they want so that there are plenty of options. Usually, we’ll narrow it down to about 2 outfits. Sometimes there’s a piece or two that someone really likes how they look and feel in and we’ll go with those options. If I’m working with someone who is un-decided, I’ll go with whatever I’m drawn to. That’s usually neutral colors, earthy tones, bodysuits, and flowy fabrics.

We started the session with this look because we felt it went well with the first studio backdrop and the florals. The other look, however, we chose an extremely log, flowy, sheer dress that produced a very fine art sort of look. This set felt very earthy and organic.

I think it’s incredible how you can create such completely different looks in the same space by just changing up colors and textures.
