Sandra & Francis’ Urban San Antonio Downtown Engagement Session

Couples

I was 45 minutes late. Yes, that’s what I’m starting out this post with. I was 45 minutes late. For Sandra and Francis’ engagement photography in San Antonio, we had planned on meeting at their place first, then riding together to the location. I showed up on time, but couldn’t get a hold of them. I was calling and texting non-stop and thinking the worst thoughts possible. After 30 minutes of waiting, I decided to head back home. Just minutes after leaving I get a phone call from Sandra wondering where I’m at and if everything is okay. Turned out that I had her phone number entered in my phone wrong. I was off by one number! One number!

I felt so embarrassed. Why am I posting this publicly? Because I have nothing to hide. I’m human and I fucked up. I’m to blame for that mishap, so I’m totally fine with owning it. So, if you’re a photographer reading this and want something to take away and learn, it’s this… If you make a mistake, Own it. Don’t tiptoe around it or make up excuses. Honesty always wins.

So, needless to say… After all that madness got sorted out, we headed out right away. We still had plenty of time, but I’m just thankful they were still very understanding. I was super pumped about their session because they had chosen an awesome location. It was definitely different than what I’m used to. I’m used to shooting in pretty nature locations, but their location had a beauty of it’s own. It was full of character and it just fit their look and style so well.
