Diana + Matt

Weddings

Diana and Matt’s wedding was many things to me. Their Horning’s Hideout wedding was fun (more on that later) and it was a brand new experience for me.

I had never traveled outside of Texas for a wedding. It didn’t really hit me until I landed in Portland, OR, but it blew my mind that I was flying to a whole other state to photograph a wedding. Seriously? Photographing a wedding? Somewhere else besides the state I live in? For a couple who only had met me on Skype?

Four years ago, when I set out and took the risk to pursue wedding photography as a full time job, I never imagined that I would be asked to travel this far to photograph something so important. I can not explain how incredible and grateful I feel to be doing this for a living… Making friends all over the place and photographing their love and commitment to each other. This is unreal.

Diana & Matt are so fucking cool.

I remember when we first met on Skype, Matt was a little quiet. To try and get them to open up, I told them that I met my girlfriend on her engagement shoot. Lol. Matt lost his shit laughing. It was fun times with them ever since. And their wedding was so much fun that it got shut down! Haha. The music was supposed to get turned down, but the playlist was all, “Turn down for what?”. Lil Jon always get the party all riled up. I don’t think anyone had any regrets. It was a great day and everyone had fun. I think the photos say it all.

In The Couple’s Words:

“By the time I found Anthony on wedding wire, I had already looked at 10-15 other photographers. Unsure of what I wanted, I knew exactly what I didn’t want: wedding photos that looked like just any other wedding. As I clicked through the photos he posted, I felt the intimacy and closeness shared between the couples he photographed. I thought to myself, wow. This is some powerful sh*t. I had to know more. Upon arriving at his website, I became even more captivated. Through his photos and through his words, Anthony told me a story. He told me it was okay to break traditions, be different, because love is different all around. He also told me that he’s not here to be my photographer. He’s here first and foremost as a friend: a genuine and all-around nice guy. And finally, his photos (and perhaps not his words because he’s too humble for this) let me know he had a special eye for creativity, emotion, and most importantly, love. That’s when I knew–he was the one. My now husband and I had such a great time with him throughout the process. By the time the wedding rolled around, I felt like we were old friends just hanging out. And that’s such a great feeling to have when your life is going 90 miles a minute on the day of your nuptials. The best part? He stayed and partied hard with us! :) We were his first Portland, OR destination wedding so I knew Anthony was a little nervous. But boy did he deliver. When I got our wedding photos, tears filled my eyes because he took me back. I literally laughed and cried as I scrolled through our photos one by one. I was in awe of his ability to capture moments and freeze them in the form of an image. He’s going to fulfill the wedding photo dreams of so many more couples. Will you be so lucky to be one of them?”
