Mary and Taylor contacted me about having me do their San Antonio engagement photography after one of my past couples, Andrew and Claire, raved about me to them. Seriously… It doesn’t get any better than that. When couples talk about me and the great experience they had with me way past their wedding day, that totally warms my heart. Plus, I didn’t realize it until Taylor and Mary told me, but I posted a photo of Taylor double-fisting beers when they were at Andrew and Claire’s Wedding. Their wedding was back in early 2014, but I immediately remembered which photo it was. Haha.
For Mary and Taylor’s engagement, they chose to go to a park that was up the street from their new home they just bought. It was the first time they had been there, but it seemed fitting since it was in the area of where they are now calling home.
They were both a bit nervous, as anyone is when getting their photos taken. And I know how it goes. It is a bit strange having someone take photos of you that isn’t with a camera phone and involves “cheeeeeese” smiles. Before we headed out, Mary had a glass of whiskey to calm her nerves. Typically, the first few photos I take of a new couple aren’t amazing because not only are they getting used to me photographing them, but I’m also learning how they interact. But straight away, the photos began to look great because their chemistry is just great. I didn’t even have to really direct them. Needless to say, we all had a lot of fun.
